Nursery Reveal

We have had so much fun working on Keegan's nursery
 over the last several months.  We enjoyed finding new things
little by little - always for such great deals,
repainting frames and dressers, and then creating our own custom
pieces whether it was by computer, wood, paint, or cricut machine.
And here we are with just 3 1/2 weeks to spare and I am so in love
with this little space that will be our baby's room.

I apologize in advance for the picture overload, but I just really,
really love it and I had to share... :)

Now to fully appreciate the finished product above, I wanted to take
you through the stages of this room prior to it being the nursery...

Before Jack and I were married this was how the room looked.
 Once we were married the room slowly started to be transformed
into this...
I really wish we had taken a picture of our bedroom prior to
converting it to the nursery but alas we did not.
We were going to leave this room the master bedroom, but after
converting Jack's office into "the nursery" we decided we wanted
to switch bedrooms.  You can see a video of that transformation HERE.
The first thing we did to the nursery was repaint it in a lighter shade
{Olympic-Sand Dune}
and then Jack painted on the blue stripes.

From there we just added piece by piece as we found deals
or as it was given to us...
 {Curtain material-IKEA made by my mom}
{Book shelves made by Jack costing $10}
{Rocking chair-gift}
 {Dresser-repainted our old wooden one
 {Top drawers taken out and replaced
with 4 canvas totes from Hobby Lobby-$36}
{Knobs replaced-Hobby Lobby $16}
{Our old bedroom mirror repainted}
{Shelf, lampshade, lantern-IKEA}
 {Rocking chair-gift from my parents}
{Blanket-CVS $.99}
{Nautical canvases-gift}
{Nightstand-our old one that we repainted}
{Picture frames-IKEA $20}
{Crochet monkey-gift}
Leaving empty frames around the room for
baby pictures of course... :)
 The canvas totes are full of burp cloths, receiving blankets,
shoes, socks, and hats...
 And needless to say, Keegan is all set with clothes for quite some time!
 Jack designed this printable for me,
that I printed and attached to an 8x10 canvas
to give it more depth.
 I love this wall quote!
Looking forward to laying Keegan in this crib...

I hope you enjoyed our nursery reveal, we loved completing each stage, and
were excited to share with our readers!

Dad-To-Be Update

I have not posted on this blog in quite awhile, but I just want to take the opportunity to post a few pictures of my beautiful wife and just say how much I love her.
Doesn't she make such a cute mommy? :)

I just can't wait to welcome Keegan into the world with her in just about a month!

 She has done so great through this whole pregnancy, and even now with less than a month left to go, she doesn't complain about the many pregnancy pains and discomforts. She is amazing.

Keegan is a blessed little guy to have her as his mom, and I am the happiest man in the world to be married to this wonderful lady.  She is the reason behind my smile and spring in my step.

Can't wait to meet you Keegan! You are going to love your mommy so much!

Baby Shower Recap

This past Saturday, I was generously showered with so
many gifts and I came away feeling so very blessed.

We have went with nautical theme for Keegan's nursery
(which we hopefully should be posting pictures of next week)
and my mother-in-law continued with that for the baby shower.
Everything was decorated so beautifully; looked like something
straight off of Pinterest! :)

If you know me, than you know my slight obsession with mason jars;
so combined with nautical...I was in heaven! ;)

Hello Baby || Week 34-35

Dear Keegan,

We are now under 6 weeks until your due date; and you are approximately the size of a pineapple - weighing in at 4.9 pounds and measuring 19-22 inches.  Doctor visits have went from being monthly to bi-weekly and soon will be weekly.  Your Doctor says you are doing well and in the proper position for birth, which makes us happy.  And speaking of happy, you sure do seem to be having a party of a time in Mommy's tummy!  I know your living quarters are becoming more and more tight as you grow, but you sure do seem to do ALOT of moving.  Some of your jabs and kicks take my breath away and make me anxious to watch your little feet and arms move from outside of me... :)

Spring has finally arrived and it makes your arrival seem that much closer!  I cannot wait to go for walks with you and Daddy this summer.  I cannot wait to show you the world!  But most importantly I cannot wait to share with you how much God loves you and how special you are to Him.  Your Daddy and I want to raise you to serve the Lord and love Him with all your heart; after all you are our gift from Him.  Every time I feel you move, I can't help but thank God for you...you are wonderfully created and my heart quickens with each thought of you.

I love you my ever-growing, little man.  Can't wait to meet you next month!

Love,
Mommy

PS  Favorites: Starbucks' refreshers, green smoothies and frozen gogurts!

<<<Keegan's favorite smoothie recipe>>>

1 cup of ice
1 cup of orange juice or water
1 heaping cup fruit of your choice
(I enjoy a mixed variety that I buy frozen from Walmart,
which I then defrost in microwave for a minute so
as to get some of the fruits' juices)
1/2 banana
2 handfuls of fresh baby spinach

Blend it together for a delicious and refreshing smoothie!

Maternity/Lifestyle Photoshoot

This may be a bit of a photo over load, but I couldn't help but want to share
some of our favorite images from our maternity/lifestyle photo-shoot taken
by Britton Felber.  As always, we were totally pleased and also had a wonderful time!

Hello Baby || Week 31-32

Dear Keegan,

I am writing this blog post from my rocker in your nursery as you happily move around inside of me.  It is so wonderful to think that in just two months I will be rocking you from this spot and holding you in my arms...

We have been pretty busy getting ready for you.  Daddy and I had a maternity shoot done in Naperville; below are two of my favorites.  We had a good time picking a few to print for your nursery.

Another fun thing we have done is registered for your baby showers.  Seems like just yesterday, Daddy and I were giddy with excitement and scanning items for our wedding registry.  Now, just 21 months later here we are still giddy but this time in anticipation for your arrival.  I dream about what you will look like and know that to us, you will be the most perfect baby in the entire world.

A couple of weeks ago, we were able to get a 4D ultra sound done.  Talk about amazing!!  We could see you plain as day.  You were behaving so well too; laying perfectly still with your hands clasped.  At one point, you even smiled and it tugged on my heart strings.  The technician also pointed out that you have hair on your head already, which Mommy is very excited about, although if you are a bald baby, I will love you all the same... :)

{We registered at both Babies R Us & Target}

Perfect little you <3

I love you with all my heart and cannot wait to meet you!

Love,
Mommy

PS Favorite foods:  everything bagels/cream cheese and smoothies!
